Our departments
Six departments make up the business. Each page shows the purpose, the people, the measures that matter and the systems the team works in.
Custodial Operations
Runs the accommodation units, yards, industries and the structured day. Custodial officers supervise prisoners, conduct counts and musters, manage unit routines, respond to incidents and maintain the dynamic security that keeps the centre calm and predictable.
Security and Intelligence
Controls access to and from the centre, runs the central monitoring station, coordinates searches and contraband control, gathers and analyses intelligence and leads the emergency response team when an incident jeopardises safety or security.
Offender Services and Programs
Delivers case management, criminogenic and wellbeing programs, education and reintegration planning for sentenced offenders inside the centre, and supervises parolees, intensive correction orders and community work crews through the Maitland Community Corrections office, working closely with health, housing and employment agencies.
Reception, Records and Escorts
Processes every new reception, discharge and transfer, keeps the sentence and warrant records accurate, manages prisoner property and trust money, and plans, staffs and conducts every escort to court, hospital and other centres using accredited officers and secure vehicles.
Health, Safety and Wellbeing
Manages the safety management system, the hazard and risk register, injury management, at-risk prisoner processes with the visiting health provider, staff wellbeing support and the accreditation matrix that keeps every officer current in mandatory skills.
Corporate Services and Administration
Provides rostering, human resources, finance, contract performance reporting, records management, complaints administration and project support so the operational units can concentrate on supervision, security and rehabilitation, and acts as the link between the centre and the contract manager.
